The Port of Falmouth Sailing Association, organisers of Falmouth Sailing Week 2023, invite all participants to a Skippers' Briefing and Reception at the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club at 1800 on Saturday 5th August.

Following an introductory welcome and the briefings by the Race Officers of the Carrick Roads and Bay Fleets, there will be a special BBQ & Buffet table on the Quay, bookable at £20 a head through the QR code below.

Meanwhile the excellent Simon Letarche Quartet will be entertaining us with Jazz on the Lawn.

In 2020, despite the disruption of the Covid pandemic, the many uncertainties that were generated, and the abbreviation of the event to only four days, Falmouth Sailing Week won the title of Event of the Year at the British Yachting Awards.

We have since reverted to our standard seven day format and have again included dinghy classes (racing in the Carrick Roads). The main regatta is a series of races, with courses laid in Falmouth Bay and the Carrick Roads by qualified Race Officers. All classes of boat – expert or beginner – are catered for.

Each club hosts one day, providing teas for competitors, prize giving for that day's racing, and entertainment into the early evening.

  • Sunday – Helford River SC & Royal Cornwall YC (Carrick Fleet)
  • Monday – Mylor YC,
  • Tuesday – Restronguet SC,
  • Wednesday – Royal Cornwall YC,
  • Thursday – Royal Cornwall YC,
  • Friday – St Mawes SC, and finally
  • Saturday – Flushing SC!

On Sunday, there is a Regatta Tea and Prize-Giving for the Carrick Fleet at RCYC.

Bay Fleet competitors will race on Wednesday in the Ancasta Champagne Race. The Champagne Race is a longer race in Falmouth and Gerrans Bays. The Carrick Fleet competitors will race in the standalone Mainbrace Rum Race, first introduced in 2021.

The IRC SW Championship Prize giving will be held on Saturday at Flushing Sailing Club.

PoFSA works closely with the Falmouth Shoreside Committee. Throughout the week this committee organises an extensive programme of events to suit all tastes and ages in Falmouth Town. Shoreside Programme.

Come and join us in the racing, or watch the action take place in one of the most beautiful sailing grounds in the world.

The dates of Falmouth Sailing Week for 2024 are Sunday 11th to Saturday 17th August.
